Miranda Lambert Walks Into a Bar

True Story: Singer Plays Free Show in Nashville Bar

This is the epitome of my love/hate relationship with Twitter. And Nashville. And Miranda Lambert.

Love, because how thoroughly cool is it that Lambert took to Twitter and Instagram to announce that in a few hours, she’d play a free show at Nashville’s Exit/In?

But then hate, because like so many country fans scattered from coast to coast, I cannot get to Nashville in a few hours.

For the few hundred people that waited in long lines and then muscled their way into the bar on Tuesday night (Jan. 13), though, what a show it must’ve been.

Lambert played 30 songs over the course of two hours.

According to ABC News Radio, the show was kind of just a rehearsal for her upcoming Certified Platinum tour. So Lambert’s set list had the hits, like "White Liar," "Mama's Broken Heart," "Automatic,” then her new tune "Little Red Wagon.” But she also did some covers like the Dixie Chicks’ “Cowboy Take Me Away” with RaeLynn and Gwen Sebastian and Little Big Town’s "Girl Crush.”

The real tour launches Thursday in Evansville, Indiana.
